Lance's Scribepost

Here are questions 4,7,10,13 from Chapter 9.3 in the textbook.

4.

4a) Every project is assigned 5 people to it
 X goes up by 1 and Y goes up by 3
b)

   c)

d) X goes up by 1 on both but y goes up by 5 in the 1st one and 3 on the 2nd one.

7. Evaluate each question using the given value

    a) y = 5x - 3 when x = 6

    b) y = x - 8 when x = 5

    c) y = -5x when x = -2

    d) y = x when y = 25

7a) y = 5x - 3
      y = 5(6) - 3
      y = 30 - 3
      y = 27

b)   y = x - 8
      y = 5 - 8
      y = -3

c)   y = -5x
      y = -5(-2)
      y = 10

d)   y = x
    25 = x

10. Make a table of values for each equation. Choose at least four integers values for x. Graph each set of ordered pairs.

a) y = 2x                        b) y = 3x - 1

c) y = -4x + 5                  d) y = 5 - x

10a)

b)

c)

d)

13a). Graph the ordered pairs in the table.

b) Is it reasonable to assume there are points between the ones on your graph if you have no other information? Why?

13a)

b) No because it will break the pattern.
